According to UK government data CCTV cameras have a modest effect on crime and is most efficient in car parks. Criminals are continually developing new ways to overcome security measures implemented by companies in various industries, especially in construction, manufacturing, retail and renewable energy farms. CCTV recording, used by many companies, can provide useful footage of thefts after they occur but does not prove enough of a deterrent to intruders.
